Paper Prototyping: From Concept to Design with Fab@School Maker Studio
Fab Lab Tulsa and Fablevision Learning
Fab@School Maker Studio is a web-based application that allows students to design and create in the classroom, library, makerspace, and even at home. Students use paper with either their regular classroom printer and scissors, or 2D and 3D digital fabricators, to construct a wide array of objects, including pop-ups, working machines, buildings, boxes and packaging, wind turbines, automata, paper airplanes, speakers, model skateboard parks, and more.
From concept to design, participants will get a first-hand experience in paper prototyping and digital fabrication. Through two design challenges, workshop participants will get hands-on with Fab@School Maker Studio and create a variety of projects from a simple vessel to hold a slinky to a powered windmill to a working paper speaker. And yes, it’s all created with paper!
