Workforce Session Speakers

Zink-Peter-fPeter A. Zink, Ph.D.
Lecturer & Research Assistant Professor
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Division of Materials Science & Engineering
Boston University

Peter Zink’s research interests include materials characterization and development for various electrochemical applications, including mixed metal/oxide recycling, and sustainable energy storage and conversion. In the past, he has worked on the development of novel solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) cathode materials for single-step, co-fired SOFCs. As the Faculty Liaison for the Automated Design and Manufacturing Lab (ADML) in the BU Engineering Product Innovation Center (EPIC), Prof. Zink works closely with students to give them a hands on experience using advanced manufacturing technologies, including a flexible manufacturing cell equipped with Computer Numerical Control machines, collaborative robots, an advanced vision system and a Computer Integrated Manufacturing system that enables the cell to be run as a small production line.
